The Big Give

The 2024/25 YOSA season will be unlike any other in our 70-year history. We are excited to continue as a home for San Antonio’s most enthusiastic young musicians to learn and create great music together. Your gift to YOSA will inspire young musicians and provide them the opportunity to play music together so they can learn, grow, and thrive while connecting with the community. 

This year, we invite you to make a gift to support YOSA and the programs we offer to more than 2,500 young musicians across San Antonio.

Your gift will help YOSA:

  • Increase need-based tuition assistance for families who are experiencing economic hardships.

  • Continue efforts to advance social equity in music education, through programs like the YOSA Rising Star Fellows and the YOSA Invitational.

  • Hire San Antonio’s finest professional musicians to teach YOSA musicians as conductors, coaches, mentors, and private instructors.

By donating to YOSA for The Big Give, you can ensure that YOSA musicians continue to make music together, that professional musicians can teach, and that our community’s most vulnerable families do not miss out on the YOSA experience.

During The Big Give, every dollar donated to YOSA during Match Minutes is doubled thanks to our generous sponsors. Make your donation go further by giving during these key times:

  • September 18: 6:11 p.m., 8:11 p.m., 9:11 p.m.

  • September 19: 10:11 a.m., 12:11 p.m., 2:11 p.m., 3:11 p.m., 5:11 p.m.

Rules

  • Only donations made September 11-19, 2024 are eligible.

  • Donations from parents with multiple YOSA musicians will have the full amount applied to each of their musicians’ orchestras.

  • Anyone may donate on behalf of a YOSA musician. When donating through The Big Give website, type the name of YOSA musician(s) the donation assists in the “Name to display” field.

  • Offline donations (check or cash) received September 11-19, 2024 are eligible.

  • Competitions will be tracked by YOSA staff and will be announced September 27, 2024.

  • Group prizes are determined using a simple formula:

    • EX. (Total number of donations by a YOSA Ensemble) / (Number of musicians in Ensemble) = (highest participation % per orchestra)
