Auditions

Auditions for the YOSA Mariachi will take place on Sunday, August 27 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Alamo Heights High School. Experienced mariachi musicians aged 14-20 are welcome to audition.

  Trumpet

  one-octave concert E major scale with arpeggio
  one-octave concert D major scale with arpeggio

  Armonía (vihuela or guitar)

  B-flat rotation in joropo rhythm
  E rotation in son jalisciense rhythm
  F major diatonic scale ascending and defending in quarter notes

  Guitarrón
  Chromatic scale in quarter notes, ascending and descending
  B-flat major scale in eighth notes, ascending and descending with arpeggio
  E major scale in eighth notes, ascending and descending with arpeggio

  Sing any song of your choice in mariachi style
