Tessa Gartin
Student Experience Coordinator
Tessa is a native of San Antonio and a YOSA alumni. She is a classically trained clarinetist with a Bachelor’s in Music Education from Southern Methodist University and a Master’s in Clarinet Performance from the University of Maryland. Tessa has 12 years of experience in music education, including 4 years in band directing and 8 years in private music teaching. She is committed to making a positive impact on children’s lives through music. Her philosophy on music education is one centered around music being enjoyable and productive. Tessa is an active performer with the Heart of Texas Concert Band and the Prickly Pear Clarinet Ensemble. In her spare time, Tessa enjoys yoga, watching movies, exploring the city of San Antonio with her partner, and cuddling with her dog Reagan and cat Gershwin.
